Q: WHAT IS THE MINIMUM RUN YOU CAN PRINT?

A: The straight answer is there is no minimum, see above "Do you print one-offs?"

Q: WHAT ARE SPOT COLOURS?

A: a Spot Colour is any (solid) color generated by an ink (pure or mixed) that is printed using a single run. All Line Art is printed using Spot Colours. Each Spot colour on a screen printed T has to have it's own Film Positive and Screen. We can screenprint up to 8 individual spot colours.

Q: WHAT ARE HALFTONES? CMYK?

A: Halftones and CMYK Prints are made up of tiny dots as opposed to Line Art (Spot Colours) which is a solid colour.

Halftones are used to produce "fine" shading and blends on your Tees and are usually just one colour. They can also be used to great effect in reproducing Black & White photos on garments.

CMYK on the other hand is for producing full colour images (photos etc) on garments. The full colour effect is achieved by combining the C=Cyan(Blue) M=Magenta(Red) Y=Yellow K=Black dots. It is the way mgazines and newspapers reproduce photos (check it out with a magnifying glass!).

It can all get a bit technical, requires special software rips, screens and film settings which if not set up right can give a mediocre print. CMYK is also time consuming to set up on the printing machinery, very tight registration and balancing of the inks are important and there are no short cuts. A White base on Dark Tees is also needed as the ink are transparent, the base becomes invisible once printed. This method is recommended for larger runs.

Both methods have their uses, and at ESP we have a lot of experience in achieving spectacular results.

Q: HOW LONG WILL MY JOB TAKE TO RUN?

A: We work to get the job to you whenever you specify, having said that our current turn around time is 3 - 5 working days from receiving the art, acceptance of quote with the deposit. If you are supplying the garments then obviously they need to be in our hands before starting!

Q: DO I HAVE TO COME IN TO PLACE MY ORDER?

A: Not necessarily... we deal with many people outside of Auckland with no problems. These days of internet and courier systems etc means we can take orders, supply proofs without even meeting you!

Q: CAN I SEE A PROOF?

A: We email all customers Print Specs of the print before we print, and you are welcome to come in and see a printing proof before the run. We can also mail/courier the printed sample to you if you wish (Mail/Courier charges may apply).

Q: DO YOU REQUIRE A DEPOSIT?

A: As almost all our products are made to order we require 50% deposit . Preferably goods for individuals must be paid for in full before manufacture commences

Alternatively we also have (by prior arrangement only) Payment on Pick up, and for pre-approved Registered Companies we have 7 Day Invoicing.

Q: HOW DO I PAY?

A: Internet Banking Direct Debit, EFTPOS, and Cash.

Q: HOW DO I GET DELIVERY?

A: We can courier to you anywhere in New Zealand by Fastway Couriers, usually next day delivery. Note: there will be additional charges (approx $4.50 within Auckland & $15 per carton outside Auckland). We also use Urgent Couriers for local fast delivery, please ask for a quote first. You can also pick up from ESP Ltd.

Q: I HAVE PAID FOR THE SCREENS, DO I OWN THEM?

A: No, you have paid for the use of the screens only. When your job is complete the screens are reclaimed and used again for other jobs.

Q: I MAY RE-RUN THE JOB IN THE FUTURE, CAN YOU HOLD THE SCREENS FOR ME?

A: Yes we can, however a date must be placed on them, we cannot hold them indefinitely due to space restraints. Maximum time can be negotiated between 1 and 3 months.
